Got a story? Is there something you’d like to tell 853? Is there a howling great error on the website? Use the email address below to get in touch.
Generally this website covers news and issues in Greenwich borough with occasional forays a short way beyond. More often than not, this involves Greenwich Council and the way it is run, but there are plenty of other issues around too.
Time to investigate new stories is limited and replies aren’t guaranteed, but all information is appreciated. If you’ve a suggestion for a burning issue, please consider what you can do to help this site get it out there.
A few things before you email the site…
Please don’t send links to stories other people have done – such as another local website or newspaper – unless there’s something new or significant that they’ve missed. Similarly, please indicate if you’ve sent the same story elsewhere – this site doesn’t have the resources to chase the same stories that richer media organisations are also covering. If you’ve got information, please send links/documents, not screengrabs.
Please also consider whether you’d be better off telling your local councillors or other representatives. We prefer stories about walking and cycling to people’s driving and parking gripes, and we are more interested in tenants’ stories than landlords’ complaints. We also don’t have the resources to cover crime (other sites that do this are, in the main, lifting it from social media or from the Met Police news feed).
If you’ve a gripe about an issue, you may be asked for a quote – please be prepared to see your name used in a story unless there is a compelling reason to be anonymous (such as protecting someone’s employment or safety). Anonymous emails will be ignored.
Because of time constraints, this site is also sadly unable to run stories plugging events. Similarly, please don’t ask us to share things on social media – you can do that yourself. If you’ve a good cause to promote, please feel free to write something for the site – see help for community groups for more.
We’ll try to resolve complaints informally – the site aims to report robustly but fairly, but please email if a clanger’s been dropped. For more serious issues, see the site’s complaints procedure.
We’re not interested in unsolicited approaches for guest posts or marketing collaborations and will treat any such approach as scams.
