  1. Simon Thomson – one of the three excellent Labour candidates selected in Blackheath Wesctombe ward – does not have a “p” in his surname.

  2. I am looking forward to the name ‘Mary Mills’ appearing in ‘Other’.
Otherwise tactical vote against Labour candidates standing.
    – Who would be best?

  3. Helpful recap of the situation.

So Labour have 26 Cllrs restanding out of 39

The 13 going out…at least 6 are confirmed retirements. 4 have been definitely deselected (Mills, Jawaid, Kotz and Iqbal). The other 3 not standing again are Beverly Jones, Jagir Sekhon and Barry Taylor. All retired on their own?

  4. Andrea – you may well know more than me, to be honest. But I’ve been advised not to rule out any of the retirees just yet, with candidates now having to be on their best behaviour…

Labour selections now complete, with Jagir Sekhon in Eltham South. Current Bexley cllr Sandra Bauer‘s popped up in Coldharbour and New Eltham.

Please feel free to add any tip-offs of who’ll be standing where for other parties to this comment thread, and any sightings of any candidates saying wise or silly things.

  5. Updated with Liberal Democrat selections, which include former councillor and thorn in the Dear Leader’s side Paul Webbewood trying to get his old Middle Park & Sutcliffe seat back, along with regular commenter Stewart Christie standing in Shooters Hill.

  6. A second tranche of Lib Dem candidates added, Labour candidates amended (Hayley Fletcher, Pat Boadu-Darko both not standing – the latter unconnected with current problems in the party), Eileen Glover added as independent in Eltham South.

If you know of others, please keep ’em coming.

  7. Labour sources report that Simon Thomson has withdrawn as a candidate in Blackheath/Westcombe to concentrate on the general election campaign in Dartford.

  8. Labour sources say that Damien Welfare is the third candidate in Blackheath Westcombe. Quite a big hitter in the red corner i believe, formerly a Parliamentary candidate in Barnet

  9. Nice job. Femi Solola is standing as an independent candidate in Thamesmead Moorings. Include his name please.

  10. Thanks Femi – added along with Labour changes in Blackheath Westcombe and Kidbrooke with Hornfair.

Lots of updating to do on this list soon…

  11. The third Labour Candidate in Eltham North is Simon Peirce (note spelling). Wynn Davies one of his fellow candidates
